Eagle Wings Academy exists to offer a Christ-centered, Biblically-based education to urban children, equipping and supporting students to reach their God-given potential and break free from the cycle of generational and spiritual poverty.
For ten years, Eagle Wings Academy was a small Christian school providing a tuition-free, Biblically-based education to Syracuse children who could not afford a traditional private school. In June 2018, the Eagle Wings Academy school board voted to close the school but to continue its original mission in a different form.
Today, Eagle Wings Academy assists urban students by providing scholarships for them to attend a local Christian school and by providing academic support for these students. Eagle Wings also gives some logistical support to the schools on behalf of its families in areas related to student health, communication in cross-cultural contexts, and answering parent questions.
Volunteer Impact
Eagle Wings volunteers work with students during free periods to help them with organization skills, studying, and homework exercises. Each child also has a dedicated adult prayer partner. Prayer Partners spend time with their assigned student, eating lunch together, talking by phone, or sharing written notes.
