Started by North Syracuse Baptist Church, the Gathering Place Community Center serves the diverse, international population on the Northside of Syracuse. Their vision is to be a gathering place of all nations to live, love, and lead like the Lord Jesus Christ. They reach out to the community surrounding their location on Butternut Street by providing a Saturday evening worship service and meeting tangible needs through a food pantry, English class, citizenship class, and tutoring for kids.

Volunteer Impact

Volunteers of The Gathering Place Community Center are making a difference in Syracuse by supporting the following efforts:

ESL classes (English as second language) are offered every Tuesday evening for adult learners. At the same time, their ESL Kids Program offers support for children who need assistance with their homework.

Citizenship classes are designed to help internationals complete the application process and successfully complete their citizenship testing.

Saturday evening worship services provide an opportunity to be part of a loving community and learn together from God’s Word.
